Return of the Living Dead 2
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Wizard of Oz (w/ Pink Floyd Audio)-
Joe and I watch The Wizard Oz the other night with Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon for the audio.... It was an evocative emotional, experience. The altered soundtrack set a unique tone, and we were able to enjoy that. However, Joe and I also had a long conversation about humans being pattern seeking creatures... and how although some sound cues seemed eerily synced .... there were misses as well. It was something like a cold reading in that you tend to remember the hits and slough over the misses.

Return of The Living Dead- collection
There was about a three month period when I was luke warm on this movie. I was up late one night and apparently in a foul mood. I watched a short section of the movie on cable (the part when the zombies mob the paramedics) and I remember getting bent out of shape about the zombies talking and running around. ... I saw it again and had a better reaction to it. I have been able to say I love the movie ever since.
This time I was home sick.... Joe was at work and I happened to catch it starting. I was happy to have the experience of watching TV. Working third shift I miss out on late night horror movies.
Joe came home for lunch and caught the end of it , he was a bit jealous , so this weekend we puled out the DVD and watched the full movie complete with nudity, swearing, and wide screen presentation. Seeing it on cable was quaint... but watching the DVD on our big TV with the lights out was really a full experience.
Dawn of the Dead-collection
One of my top 5 horror movies and maybe my favorite zombie movie..... we watched the Blu-ray this time. I missed some of the extended scenes not in this theatrical version.
The Wiz- Netflix
This movie kinda freaks me out.... Oz just seems scary, diseased, and filthy. It seems like a post apocalyptic world where everything is tragic.... even after they kill the wicked witch.
I always wanted to watch this movie when it was on (when I was a kid) but I don't think I like it very much.
Nipsy Russel is pretty cool though... and Michael Jackson is sweet and charismatic.
The Sure Thing-Netflix
Zombiemania- Netflix (streamed)
Teased by the idea of discussing the deeper reasons for the genera's popularity, I kept watching.... but I was disappointed. Like a lot of topic specific specials, Ideas were tossed out but not really earnestly indulged in. Concepts and film bits were collaged together with interviews from experts .... but it all seemed chaotic. Often the images they showed undercut the points they were trying to make.
Still, seeing Zombiemania inspired a lot of discussion between Joe and I.
Mother, Jugs & Speed
Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore
Finishing School-
A very sweet movie. I watched it when I was home sick, and then when Joe stayed home sick he watched too.
